2022 Brabus P900 Rocket Edition revealed

This is not your average ute.

Brabus, the fettler who applies its works to go-fast Mercedes-Benzes, has debuted its new limited edition super ute.

Dubbed the P900 Rocket Edition, it uses the mean looking G-Wagen as its base and then converts it from an SUV to a ute and adds plenty of performance parts.

Under the bonnet is a booming 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine that makes a whopping 662kW and 1250Nm.

Those figures put it well above exotic machines from Ferrari and Lamborghini.

Fuel use is a concern, too, with the P900 Rocket Edition drinking 14.4L/100km. This jumps to more than 17L when driven around town.

It can sprint from 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 280km/h.

Throw in four-wheel drive, Sport mode and a raucous exhaust and you’ve got a supercar killing ute.

This bonkers performance comes with a price tag to match.

It’s priced at €773,069 ($1.15m), which in Australia would translate to about $1.5m once various taxes and duties were applied.

To put that in perspective you could buy multiple top-end Ferraris or 25 Toyota HiLuxes.

What you do get is exclusivity, as Brabus is only making 10 examples of the P900 Rocket Edition.

It isn’t all about performance, though.

There are 24-inch alloy wheels, butch looks, plenty of carbon fibre inserts and surfaces and Brabus logos and badging all over. The exhaust tips even light-up red when in Sport mode.

Inside the P900 Rocket Edition is dripping in leather. It covers the seats, centre console, dashboard, steering wheel and even the floor.

The front seats are heated, ventilated and have a position memory function.

There are plenty of sporty touches inside, too, including aluminium sports pedals, steering wheel mounted gear shifters and lots of carbon fibre elements.
