Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, most of the people had to put themselves into isolation. Most of the pet-parents have credited their pets for keeping them sane throughout the lockdown. Hotel Hilton wanted to help these pet-parents to reward their furry ones for the adorable service with some fine dining.
A pet-friendly menu is created and will be made available in all of the 32 Hilton’s pet friendly hotels in United Kingdom and Ireland. The new pet menu is more likely to start from May 17, 2021. Hotel Hilton’s dog menu will be named as “Bone Appétit”.
The Bone Appétit dog menu will feature these four options:
- Beef Doguignon: this is a slow cooked beef brisket that will be served with mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet corn, carrots, broad beans and gluten free gravy.
- Tailwagger Creek: It is a non-alcoholic wine that is infused with nettle, ginseng, lime flower, black carrot and elderflower.
- Mutt Roast: A gluten free tomato pasta that is topped with mature cheddar cheese and is roasted in the oven
- Earl Greyhound: A blend of rose petals, lime flower, orange flowers and lavender
This menu was made along with veterinary nutrition experts and was approved by ‘Dog-Friendly’. Dog-Friendly is an app in the UK that helps pet-parents find pet-friendly hotels and restaurants.
Hotel Hilton has promoted this new menu so that pet parents can have a chance to thank their pet for their love and support during the pandemic. According to the hotel’s research, it was found that around 82% of pet owners in UK mentioned that their canines were valuable and supportive as family and close friends during the pandemic.
While speaking to CNN, Hotel Hilton’s UK & Ireland vice president, Julie Baker stated that the dog menu is a way to help the pet-parents give their furry ones special rewards post pandemic. Julie mentioned that she has already decided to treat her seven-year-old Border terrier canine, Muttley, with a Mutt Roast really soon.
