Nottingham fire: More than 100 firefighters on scene as huge blaze engulfs metal plant | UK | News

Nearly 100 firefighters have been called for intervention on Harrimans Lane, Dunkirk, Nottingham on Saturday night after a fire started around 7.20pm according to local reports.

Footage from the scene shows an enormous blaze turning the evening darkness into a red apocalyptic sight.

A Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) spokesman said: “Over 100 firefighters continue to tackle a significant metal fire on Harrimans Ln.

“Please stay out of the area and be aware of a large number of vehicles travelling to the incident.

“If you live nearby, keep your windows and doors closed.”

Nottinghamshire Live reports that it’s already the third time in a year firefighters have been called to the same industrial area.

Two aerial ladder platforms, a high volume pump, and a welfare unit are in attendance.

Chief Fire Officer John Buckley said: “Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service are currently dealing with a large fire in the Lenton area of Nottingham.

“Please be patient whilst crews deal with the incident.”
