Stephen Amell Reacts To Hawkeye Image, Showing Support For Lefties

It’s always heartening to see superheroes supporting each other, even more so when said superheroes are from rival comic publishers. After Marvel Studios shared the first image of Kate Bishop (played by Hailee Steinfeld) and Clint Barton/Hawkeye (played by Jeremy Renner), Stephen Amell reacts to Hawkeye and showed support to both characters by quote tweeting the following:

Amell, who had played DC Comic’s Oliver Queen/Green Arrow on the CWVerse for eight years, knows all about wielding a bow and arrow to take down the bad guys. He had previously given Hawkeye a hard time at Motor City’s Comic Con in 2018, saying in response to a fan’s question of what other superhero he’d like to play:

“I think that any iteration of Green Arrow would beat any iteration of Hawkeye just based on the fact he’s not weird and left-handed.”

He was kidding, of course, but it still caused some people to raise a few judgemental eyebrows. In the original comics, Hawkeye was right-handed, but Renner himself is a lefty so Marvel Studios probably decided it would’ve been a struggle to pretend to shoot arrows as a righty. If Amell’s most recent tweet isn’t proof that there’s no bad blood between Green Arrow and Hawkeye, he had also tweeted this after his appearance at Motor City’s Comic Con:

Hawkeye is going to be Disney+’s fourth live-action Marvel series following WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki. Viewers will get to see Barton training 22-year-old Kate Bishop (who’s a bit of an annoying fangirl, according to Renner) as she prepares to take over and become his successor. Like the other shows, Hawkeye will build up to Dr. Strange the Multiverse of Madness as new characters are introduced and the different timelines that were opened up in Loki are revealed.

Hawkeye will debut on Disney+ on Wednesday, November 24.
