STM Loves: Shore Leave Festival, Hommey’s pet collection, The Westin’s chocolate high tea and Ankalia sandals
Shore Leave Festival
This not-to-be-missed foodie event is set down for April 27-30 in Geraldton, on Yamatji country, showcasing the best the Coral Coast area has to offer. There is a mix of free and ticketed events, including a paddock-to-plate dinner at Yanget Farm with high-profile chef Matt Moran, and back-of-the-boat seafood sales. Its delicious centrepiece is the Abrolhos Islands Long Table Lunch on April 28 — a seafood extravaganza, curated by celebrated chef Brendan Pratt, matched with Vasse Felix wines and best of all, the backdrop of the stunning remote islands. You could even make it the start of a longer adventure — one activity considered a must-do is to travel north to Dirk Hartog Island, stay at the Eco Lodge retreat and book its Australia’s Last Sunset tour atop the 183m high Herald Height Cliffs.
Hommey for pets
For those who want to give their fur baby a bit of luxury, home comforts business Hommey has launched a collection for pets. Known for its comfy cushions, towels and robes, the company is now doing pet beds in its signature boucle fabric “for post zoomie ZZZ’s”, bone-shaped cushions and faux-fur blankets, as well as collars and leads.

Chocolate High Tea
Just in time for Easter, The Westin has brought back its decadent Chocolate High Tea featuring sweet and savoury chocolate indulgence by executive pastry chef Sarah Rix, in collaboration with Valrhona. The limited-edition series recently launched and will continue until Sunday, April 23, in the stunning surrounds of the Haven Lounge and Garden Terrace. The cost ranges between $65 and $85 and bookings can be made at www.havenlounge.com.au
What better way to elevate a stylish sandal than to add some bling? After learning the ropes from a renowned “Papa” sandal artisan in Milan, Cheryl Botha founded Ankalia Sandals in 2014 with Swarovski crystal-embellished styles that are handcrafted right here in WA. “Craftsmanship is not only a tradition from the past; it is also a living reality today and every day in my small studio in Perth,” she says. Toothbrush and style are two words that rarely go together, until now. Founded by Bunbury-based Jess Lewis, these aesthetic sonic toothbrushes have five cleaning modes, brushing mode memory and look great while doing it.
