An urgent recall has been issued for a number of popular beers due to fears it may cause illness if consumed.
Three Ballistic Beer Co products were recalled by Food Standards Australia on Wednesday, out of concern secondary fermentation has occurred in the products.
The products have been sold in single can, four packs, and cartons of 16 across the country:
- Hawaiian Haze Pale Ale 375mL – best before dates 05/10/22 up to and including 28/02/23;
- Hawaiian Haze IPA 375mL – best before date 15/12/22;
- and Reef Pale Ale 375mL – best before date 04/02/23
Impacted retailers include Liquorland stores in Queensland and NSW; Vintage Cellars in Victoria, NT, Tasmania, ACT and NSW; independent liquor retailers in South Australia, NSW, Queensland and Victoria; and First Choice, Dan Murphy’s and BWS stores nationally.
In a statement, FSA said: “Food products containing excess alcohol and carbonation may cause illness/injury if consumed”.
“Consumers should not drink or open this product, and should dispose of it safely.
“Please contact Ballistic Beer Co. for safe disposal instructions and to arrange for reimbursement.”
